Articles - Working

Working in a construction site as a labour or any other trade profession has been more and more popular for students. Although it is very hard work, the pay is usually good, even more working on weekends or in night shifts.

In Australia it is necessary to have a special induction to make sure the workers know the health and safety  procedures in a construction site.

Depending on the state you are (NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, NT, TAS), you will need a certain induction valid for the state. This training can be made in classroom or online course by internet. They are known as Bluecard Construction (QLD), White Card (SA), Red Card and Construction Induction Card (VIC). NSW Construction Induction Certificates are recognised in South Australia, Queensland and Victoria.  Green Card (NSW). The recognition of white, blue and red construction induction cards in NSW only applies to general OHS induction training for construction work.

Usually the online course costs around AU$60. There are many websites providing the course and they are easily found on  internet searches sites.
