License for working with alcohol (RSA)

Articles - Working

If you are thinking to get a job in Australia, specially in the hospitality industry which includes working in pubs, restaurants and bistros, you will need to have a license called RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).

This is a compulsory license required by the state governments for people who deals and sells alcohol in their workplace. The objective is to make sure that the employee understand the laws about the consumption of alcohol.

The rules and laws are a bit different from state to state, so you have to take a RSA course focused on the laws of the state you are. For example the legislation for selling alcohol in NSW is a bit different from the ones in QLD.

You can get the RSA certificate through internet courses or attending a course in an accredited organization by booking a course.
If you are a student, you may have a discount on the RSA Course.

 Good luck !
